Game Review: Street Fighter 6

New generation means new games, and the Street Fighter franchise isn't here to miss out on that.
Street Fighter 6 is Capcom's latest addition to the award winning Street Fighter franchise, it is a game that can be enjoyed by the existing fans but it also provides new control schemes for people new to the genre or to the franchise.

What do you guys think of SF6's UI? : r/Fighters

1.Health Bar

2. Drive Bar

3. Timer Gauge

4. P2 Health Bar

5. Character Icon

6. Meter Bar

The game's objective is as follows, to simply defeat your opponent by either knocking down their health bar or having more health points than them by the time the match ends.

In addition to these UIs, this game has many mechanics utilizing the meter bar or drive bar.

First up, parry, done by holding down the parry button, it makes your character parry every attack asides from grabs or command grabs.

Next up, grabs, done by pressing both the light punch and light kick buttons at the same time, it makes your character grab the opponent, it can be countered if the opponent grabs back in time. Grabs cannot be blocked or parried.

Next up, drive rush, it is done by holding forward twice during a parry and it makes your character advance and it also makes attacks come out faster.

Next up, drive impact, it is done by pressing the drive impact button, it automatically armors through 3 attacks and if successful in counter attacking, locks the enemy player in an animation and gives you a combo, can be countered by the opponent drive impacting you back.

Furthermore, every character has access to special attacks and super attacks.

Special attacks are attacks done by using a motion input in combination with an attack button and do not cost meter or drive bar, unless it is the ex special version which is done by pressing two attack buttons instead of just one, which costs drive bar.

Super attacks are also done through motion inputs and an attack button and it consumes either 1 bar, 2 bars, or 3 bars.

    Pros and Cons

Pros
1. Highly rewarding skill based gameplay.

2. Control schemes that include both classic and modern controls ensuring anyone can play.

3. Extensive gameplay options ranging from online play, story mode, training mode, offline play, it has it all.

4. A huge range of character archetype ensures that you're very likely to find a character you like.

5. Amazing realistic graphic design.

Cons

1. This is more a personal grievance but the characters I used to play in the previous games are not included in this one.

2. How the ranked mode selections work is pretty mysterious and often places players either too low or too high for their skill levels.

  2. A problem i have found with the game is that i feel the characters are not unique enough for the title. often more than not characters resort to similar tactics and those who don't fall behind naturally.

    1. That is very true a lot of the characters resort to the same tactics like throw loops because they are just that powerful.
